How we write our guides

Every guide is built from manufacturer care instructions, product labels and established household-safety guidance. We explain why a method works (for example, why an acid lifts limescale and an alkali cuts grease) so you can adapt it to your own home.

We do not claim lab testing or invent statistics. Where a method has a risk — mixing chemicals, damaging natural stone, voiding a warranty — we say so plainly.

Safety first

Never mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia or other cleaners. Always ventilate, wear gloves for strong products, and test any method on a hidden area first.
